Vintage Couch

I just loved the lines of this old vintage large sofa i found the detail in the edging is so pretty to me. And i just love the simple, classy look of the black & white toile and sort of shabby chic touch it has, and an adorable little family bought it from us, so happy when my pieces go to a good home..

The Alameda Trip

Recently we decided to go host a booth at Alameda " Antiques by the Bay" where you are only allowed to bring in true Vintage pieces. An early (very early) experience we woke up at 1:45 a.m. to finish loading trailor & head down with an arrival time of 4:15 a.m - set up in the dark &witness the sunrise over the beautiful Bay bridge in the distance as so many vendors-shoppers wandered the grounds. We got so many ideas, and met so many people we had heard about, The one and only "Big Daddy" and his items were as amazing as we had heard, our friends over at "Tattered House"who had precious designs, from Roseville, "Bungalow" from Fair Oaks who had the most beautiful peices, met Marilyn from Oregon who hosts her own fabulous blog "Marilyn,Marilyn,Marilyn" and we even saw Dianne Keaton strolling around and were even more excited when she stopped at our booth and chatted with her friends about one of our vintage pieces (a grain box) as we sat that in a daze-and i think smiled. At the end of the day we loaded up and headed home to finally arrive back in Folsom at 6:30 p.m. A really long day but so worth it, if you ever get a chance to go, You Must Go, it is just fabulous.

In The Near Future

As we are now on our way, with all new, we are still working on upcoming classes-possible parties that we can host, give, teach in the above portion of store. At the moment we need to organize it and decorate but would love to host Jewelry Parties-Candle Parites, Teach types of Upholstery classes,Decopage classes that will include amazing vintage suitcases, Craft classes, and my favorite little girls fantasy Princess parties with all the tulle-mini white lights, crowns and frill i can give it. So as soon as we get that all figured out we hope to have brochures available and more info online about pricing % for using room for your hosting.
If you have suggestions-or ideas-or classes your interested in us doing ,let us know and remember we now offer gourmet coffee-fresh muffins-Not Too Shabby water all for only $1.00 be sure to stop in and inspire-be inspired & visit.

Before

The Historic District in Folsom is so cute but not that easy to fix up there are so many rules, so we were limited on what we could do, so we thought if we added some color , red flowers, not too shabby flags, some red flowered wreaths, an Open Sign, some lighted ball trees and big bulb lights to frame windows.

After

SO after trying to think of ways to brighten up the store front we thought we add some color and went with the bright red. What Do You Think?

Picture Perfect

After painting, hammering, hanging cabinet doors, sewing curtains, moldings,& cleaning it is all done and picture perfect, came together very well, the colors compliment the furniture, the space and all of our lovely vintage pieces came together very well. We have had nothing but compliments on everything, and the outside turned out well too, we added some red to brighten things up and grab your eye, and so far it seems to have worked. The 3 of us love old furniture and it shows,a precious vanity, amazing dining table with gold highlights, a tall pretty dresser, upholstered wingback in a simple but elegant linen, the unique apron with a sassy fur all made and worked on with our love for vintage pieces. And at great prices so we can move them quickly so we can bring life to more of our fabulous finds.

add some style

While we were in Grass Valley cutting down our annual Christmas tree, saw this chair and for me i like the ugliest, most hideous chair that needs the most work, i love the challenge of taking something that many would chalk up to being a lost cause and bringing a new look and giving some style or what i like to think of is love to the piece. This chair is a vintage cane sided chair in a dark brown oak like color with a deep green velvet like material. I sanded-painted it in a heirloom color slightly distressed it to give it that worn antique look and then upholstered it in a blueish satin/taffeta like fabric with a gold scroll pattern running through it.Upholstering the chair is the easist for me, choosing the fabric and texture is what takes me so long..

watch our progress as we try to give the front of store a new (come check us out) look.
